| | Care For Your Engine First
|
Because we are all driving further, and have a faster pace of life, it's
difficult to keep up with the pace in our life style and the massive changes
in technology. As cars become more and more sophisticated, and with the growth
of diesel engines, engine manufacturers and OEM recommendations have become
increasingly important. One thing we shouldn't forget, despite longer service
intervals, is to check levels of oil in our cars.
This means
that between visits to the garage, it's more important than ever to check the
oil level regularly and top it up when necessary. Most car manufacturers
recommend you check your oil every 1,600 km. This is because, as the oil level
drops, the remaining oil in your engine has to work harder, becoming dirtier
and wearing out faster - with the result that your car's performance may start
to suffer.
Also, not much further down the road, your engine
could be in real danger of increased wear, over heating and even total
seizure. Some oils thicken or break down when temperatures are too hot or
cold. Without adequate lubrication, friction can harm engine parts. However,
Mobil engineering has produced a range of remarkably stable lubricants that
perform in high and low temperatures. When calling into your nearest Mobil
Service Station, remember that regular top-ups help improve engine wear and
prolong your engine life.

| Other Tips

Rather than deal with a roll of paper towels, keep single paper towel sheets
stored within reach to deal with spills. Leftover napkins from restaurants and
movie theaters work too.
You can tell how much light is left
in the day if you hold your hand up and place your fingers between the horizon
and the sun. Count 5 minutes for each finger to tell how much time you have
left before dark.
Don't forget the windshield washer fluid.
You never know when you might need it. And if you're in a cold climate, make
sure you use the fluid, and not water, so that it doesn't freeze.
Keep a stash of baby wipes and plastic grocery bags in your car. You never
know when they’ll come in handy.
Keep all important
phone numbers with you in the car to look up when you need them - but pull
over and park first!
